CONVENIENT: Aspen Hollow is located eight miles west of the intersection of Main Street (CR 306) and US Highway 24.  Paved roads all the way to our front gate allow for year round access. It is less than 1/4 mile from Segment 13 of the Colorado Trail.  

SECLUDED: Aspen Hollow sits on 5 1/2 Aspen filled acres surrounded by the San Isabel National Forest.  The forest is so close, its less than 30 feet from the door. Enjoy the Colorado Rockies the way they were meant to be: quiet, peaceful and private

LUXURIOUS. Aspen Hollow is a 1950's vintage cabin that has been updated with all modern conveniences.  Tankless hot water heaters ensure plenty of hot water for you and your family.  Our fully stocked gourmet kitchen allows you to prepare your favorite meals with all the convenience of home. Open the windows and listen to the rhythms of Middle Cottonwood Creek just outside. Bring DVDs and watch your favorite movies or play one of our boardgames.  We stocked Aspen Hollow with all of your favorite games: Twister, chess, checkers, Risk, Candyland and Monopoly.

ACTIVE: Although Aspen Hollow is equipped for a luxurious stay, Colorado is all about the outdoors.  Enjoy hiking the nearby Colorado trail. Fish your own private waters in Middle Cottonwood Creek. Conveniently located near Segment 13 of the Colorado trail, Aspen Hollow offers a few day's rest from the trail for long distance hikers, or an excellent base for exploration in the Collegiate Peaks region.  Cottonwood Lake is only three miles west and Mt. Princeton and Yale are both visible from your door.  Enjoy wildlife in its natural state.  Bighorn sheep, Rocky Mountain goats, black bear, moose, elk, Mule Deer, mink, bobcats, coyotes and mountain lion are all close by. Or simply relax on the patio and enjoy the sight of the rockies, bask in the cool mountain air, or listen to the rustling of the aspens and the tumbling waters of Cottonwood Creek.  We have ample room for your ATVs or snowmobiles. 

ROOMY: Aspen Hollow can comfortably sleep you and your family.  With a queen bed in the master bedroom and two twins in the guest room, four people can comfortable share the main house.  The guest house has a large master bedroom with its own queen bed and a front room with twin bunks.  With four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, eight people can comfortably enjoy all that Aspen Hollow has to offer.

The closest mountain is Monarch, about 45 minutes south. Ski Cooper is about an hour away and Copper mountain and Breckenridge are only a little more distant.  Aspen Hollow allows you to enjoy a great day skiing and then enjoy the winter's majesty of the rockies without crowds.
Cultural Sites

St. Elmo: One of the best preserved ghost towns in the west

Leadville: The old west is still alive and well in Leadville.  Visit the Tabor Opera House and the International Mining Hall of Fame

Midland Tunnels: See how the early steam powered trains made their way through our valley.

Salida: See the shops and sights in everyone's favorite mountain town.

Leisure Activities

Cottonwood Hot Springs is a mile down the road.  Enjoy their relaxing pools and your massage. Or, if you wish, book a masseuse at Aspen Hollow for the ultimate in privacy.

Mt Princeton Hot Springs and spa are a few miles further and offers fun for the entire family.  Kids love the water slide.  Adults love the amenities.

Hike the Colorado Trail, its a quarter mile from your door at Aspen Hollow.

See the sunset from Cottonwood Pass

Fishing

Naturally reproducing brown trout are just outside your door in Middle Cottonwood Creek.  Enjoy fly fishing your own private waters at Aspen Hollow (catch and release only) .You can also try the Gold Medal waters of the Arkansas River or one of our many high country lakes. Cottonwood Lake is only three miles west and offers year round fishing for the whole family. The Ptarmigan Lake trailhead is five miles west and offers a bracing hike to a natural high country lake.  Up River Fly Fishing in Buena Vista  has the guides and the gear to get you into some of the best fishing of your life on the Arkansas River.

Few things compare to the pleasure of seeing Chaffee County's beauty from a different perspective-atop a horse.  Mt. Princeton Riding Stables is our local favorite.

Off Roading

The Buena Vista area has some of the more challenging trails around.  Whether you choose an easier route in the Four Mile area east of Buena Vista or more challenging opportunities such as Chniaman Gulch or Iron Chest Mine road, off road adventure is close.
